Kitty Schroeder is an artist based in Cincinnati, Ohio, who is currently creating layered, map-based images using mixed mediums. These works convey a sense of energy and time, centering on the relationship of mapping with global connectivity. Childhood experiences moving repeatedly continue to inspire her layered methods of making artwork.
She earned a BA and MA from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, focusing on ceramics, printmaking and drawing. In Arkansas she worked as an Artist in the Schools and as a founding member of ArtSpace Artist Cooperative. She worked eight years in the Junkin after filling two adjunct positions, art making was subjected to realism and support for her family. Her focus since retiring remains on skills and experimentation. In 2024, she completed a year-long residency at Manifest Gallery.
