sustainable web developer, copywriter, and SEO expert

This one keeps coming up, especially in the context of sustainable web development. You mention sustainability, and someone perfectly nice says they are into it, too, perhaps in an effort to push their own services. But their work just is not covering the basics. It’s awkward when it happens in public, because you’re effectively forced to contradict them to avoid the definition being watered down. I want to be inclusive, but you can’t pretend to care when are you are so reliant on heavy themes and plugins, not using basic CSS and class systems, and all your images are JPEG and PNG format. If you aren’t even glancing at the data output by your sites, you can’t claim to be sustainable. Nor can you really claim to be a developer, because code clearly doesn’t interest you. Your 2 MB/page view site is not sustainable. I’m sorry. I would help you if you asked.
