Spring Into Summer!

Spring brought energy, excitement, and incredible growth to Code & Circuit as students explored robotics, engineering, coding, and creativity both inside our learning lab and throughout the community. As we wrapped up another successful school year, we celebrated not only student accomplishments, but also the partnerships and collaborations that make our work possible.

One of the highlights of the spring was the Robotics in Residence program. Throughout the Spring, Code & Circuit brought hands-on robotics experiences directly into schools, giving students opportunities to code, engineer, problem-solve, and discover new passions. Watching students light up when interacting with robots and engaging in engineering challenges for the first time reminds us why we do this work. These residencies continue to demonstrate the power of bringing STEAM experiences directly to young learners and classrooms. Additionally, Co-Op student Alexandria (Alex) Jones presented at a Girls Inc. workshop, and Director Lori Towle presented at multiple conferences on AI in Education.

Our FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team had a season to remember. After months of design, coding, testing, and collaboration, the devoted crew advanced to the Massachusetts State Championship. At one event, our team topped the chart in game score! FTC #24725 was later invited to participate in the prestigious New England Elite Showcase, where some of the top teams in the region gathered to celebrate innovation and engineering excellence. We are incredibly proud of our students, coaches, mentors, and families who dedicated countless hours to making this season a success. The experience reinforced that robotics is about much more than competition ~ it is about teamwork, resilience, leadership, and learning to solve real-world problems.

This spring also highlighted the strength of our Amesbury and Newburyport communities. We held the 3rd Annual Earth Day Carnival in April, bringing hundreds of people together to learn about sustainability and eco-friendly living from 8 local vendors, including ACES (Alliance of Climate and Environmental Stewards), Tinkerhaus, Newburyport Sustainability, Waste Ambassadors, Bresnahan Green Team, The Bresnahan 3rd Grade, Mass Energize, Homeworks, and Emerald Evocations. In addition, our year-long Game Development Club ~ led by James Wallace ~ hosted a Community BLOK Party for their new game on STEAM, called BLOK.

We were grateful to collaborate with Zach Field Drums & Music and The Center Amesbury, led by Cat DeBrock, on creative fundraising efforts that brought together art, music, and technology during Pride month. These partnerships reflect what makes Amesbury so special ~ a community where organizations support one another and work together to create opportunities for youth and families. Through these collaborations, we continue to build a vibrant ecosystem that celebrates diversity and creativity in all its forms… providing LGBTQ youth scholarships to participants.

As the school year came to a close, excitement began building for Summer 2026. Programs launched this week, featuring rockets, robotics, coding, Minecraft, animation, AI, 3D printing, engineering, and hands-on STEAM exploration. Our team has been hard at work preparing experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence while ensuring that learning remains playful and joyful.
