“Starting a new school year comes with plenty of excitement, but it can also feel overwhelming for families trying to navigate the many programs and supports available,” Kim Krawec Manager of Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) for the Town of Cochrane said.

“The Back-to-School Family Resource Fair brings everything together in one place, making it easier for families to discover local resources, ask questions and build connections that can support them throughout the school year.”

Attendees will be able to connect with local agencies and learn about support, programs and services for youth from pre-K to Grade 12.

The fair takes place on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SLS Centre Sports Court and will include life-size games, glitter tattoos, and a back-to-school photo booth.

Families can learn about the Town’s Backpack Program and other back-to-school support programs.

The Town Backpack Program provides backpacks filled with grade-appropriate supplies to eligible families. The Family Resource Network is currently accepting applications for the backpack program, until September 18.

For more information on the Back-to-School Family Resource Fair see the Town of Cochrane website.
