Why do this? Amazon is evil. Also S3 costs too much.

B2 Cloud Storage

  1. Backblaze account. It’s free to start.
  2. Try rclone from S3 to my local machine and back up to Backblaze and find it way too slow. Also use up all my daily quota.
  3. Learn about Use Flexify.IO to Transfer Data from AWS S3 to Backblaze B2.
  4. Create Flexify.IO account
  5. Set up Data endpoints
    1. S3 bucket sources
    2. Backblaze sinks
  6. Initiate first migration
  7. Immediately get account “suspended” because I haven’t given them any money.
  8. Put $10 in my account
  9. Complete first migration: backups on S3 to backups on B2. 2:48 for 77.8 GiB (14,071 objects)
  10. Migrate media (hit a weird object permission issue but ¯\(ツ)/¯). 4.73 GiB (919 objects) in 58 seconds
  11. Ongoing: Watch and wait for a few weeks

TODO: delete S3 buckets
