Thursday Flotsam and Jetsam

Really taken by surprise by the passing of Tim Curry at age 80. Like Dolly Parton - Curry seemed ageless and was surprised he was 80… Reportedly the ACC and Big 12 will join the Big 10 and SEC (along with Notre Dame) in banning NFL players. Wonder if the delay by the ACC and Big 12 was to insure they weren’t ceding an advantage to the SEC and places like LSU… Good for all involved. Shame on the Biden Administration for denying the recognition of this valor… The NFL will ditch the Pro Bowl game - they will keep the honor of being named to the Pro Bowl team but the exhibition game has long been a joke. At least it still had a free trip to Hawaii before that too was taken away… If you are keeping track of such things where people seem to die in threes - not only did we lose Dolly Parton and Tim Curry but we also recently lost ZZ Top’s drummer Frank Beard who passed August 17th in Texas… Wonder if Texas Tech in the Big 12 joined LSU in the SEC in abstaining from a vote on the matter of banning NFL players?… There were 53,220 US servicemen killed in Vietnam but the numbers who died from Covid vaccine complications greatly exceed that number. How come we haven’t seen any Covid Vaccine Memorials pop up when Vietnam Memorials seem to be everywhere?... Tim Curry had such iconic roles as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show but to me also he was the doctor in The Hunt for Red October. My kids, however, probably know him best as Nigel Thornberry from The Wild Thornberrys… Wonder if players going back on their choice to turn pro violates the honor code of such places as the Service Academies or BYU?… Honest question but shouldn’t there be a way for parents or kids who were the true victims of Facebook’s algorithm targeting them to be compensated? The money seems to be flowing to the lawyers and politicians instead…
