Sunday Flotsam and Jetsam

President Trump and General Dan “Raisin” Caine said the new White House ballroom was needed for military purposes to keep the President safe and for command and control purposes. This would make it a Commander in Chief issue and take it out of the purview of the judiciary… Fenway Sports Group headed by John Henry (the same ones who own the Red Sox) have sold a minority stake in the Liverpool soccer team to a group that includes Jeff Bezos one of the richest men in the world. This comes on the heels of the Yankees selling a minority stake to a private equity group. Are all the top teams becoming the play things of the fabulously rich?... On the drive to the beach I misread a business called “Union and Main” as “Onion and Main” - maybe because it was a restaurant and I was moving? Is it easy to confuse the two words?… Wonder about timing of Marco Rubio’s speaking out about how having foreign dignitaries subjected to outside plastic tents and port-o-potties is giving the world the wrong impression of America. This could be potentially harming our ability to get foreign treaties done which again is an Executive branch matter with nothing to do with the courts… Speaking of rich guys - do you remember the jingle “I’d like to buy the world a Coke” when you were a kid? Do you think Elon Musk actually has enough money to do that?… Business idea: couple an answering service with a law firm. You could offer the service to people who don’t want to be bothered with spam calls and require anyone who calls them to put the number on a do not call list. Anyone who calls back a second time gets sued. The customer and the firm split the proceeds… Interesting idea that this November will be the first election in a long time with no USAID funds and many redrawn congressional districts. Wonder how it will turn out?… Do think switching the words union and onion in many phrases would work? For example if you had a weak union you could call them a “glass union.” What other examples are there?… Strange sight on the trip to the beach - a brewery that offers breakfast. Talk about taking your day drinking to another level… Heard the Queen song (Find Me) Somebody to Love and all I could think of was Ayn Rand saying “Find them yourself you lazy parasite”…
