Friday Flotsam and Jetsam

Can we all agree that changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America is a bit silly? Don’t we have more important things to deal with?… If Bill Gates comes out to warn about AI then I’m for AI. This is the same guy who was pushing vaccines - even for animals and blocking out the sun. Pure evil... I may solidly be in the minority but I’m still rooting for UNC and Bill Belichick to be successful. Good luck tomorrow against TCU… For Catholics around the globe it is Saint Augustine’s Day. Here in America it is also National Lemon Juice Day. I choose to just consider it Friday… It would be amusing if the WNBA - like the SEC, Big 10, ACC, and Big 12 - put out a statement saying they too will prohibit teams from signing any NFL or NBA players... Read the phrase “economists and other lunatics” and really liked that... The debate over QB’s getting “jacked” like John Mateer of Oklahoma remind me of the widespread belief that lifting weight was bad for your shot and bad for basketball. Then Michael Jordan became a workout nut and the consensus changed. Wonder if we’re looking at something similar here... When Elvis died when I was a kid so many made it a big deal and never truly seemed to get over it. To a much lesser extent the passing of Polly Parton helped me understand why so many felt so emotionally attached… I wasn’t aware the Babylon Bee had a sports section… The Patriots got blasted by the Browns last night 37-13. Of course if the result was reversed I’d be thinking New England showed why they are a top team. As it was was - it was Cleveland fans who can now hope this is a sign of good things to come.
