Hello Cousins,

I would like to provide you an update from the Logan Genealogy team.

I am pleased to be able to start with some exciting news. Marlee Logan has completed her training and is now a full member of the Clan Logan Genealogy Team! Rather than just celebrating this achievement, she immediately made a major contribution by completing two deep dives. Thanks to her work, the Logan Genealogy page now has 482 people on our growing tree that has 18 branches.

A “branch” is the way we group people together who have similar origins. When we can, we use the results from the Logan DNA project, grouping them into “limbs,” as defined by that project. See my blog for more details. Those who cannot participate in the Logan DNA project we have grouped based on their known origins, e.g., Ulster, Irish Catholic, Logan, Ayrshire, for example.

I invite you to visit our site. Once you do, you will be asked to register, and I will seek to quickly approve.

In addition to the deep dives, we have completed our study into the earliest Logans in Ireland and Scotland. These Logans were active during the reigns of William the Lion and King Alexander II. Read on for more on these Logans and their place in Scottish and Irish history.
