November 3, 2026, will be midterm elections day in the United States of America, with control of the Senate, the House of Representatives, and many governorships and state legislatures all decided by the outcome. It’s less than 80 days away now. The vile regime currently occupying the White House has repeatedly threatened and attempted election interference and voter intimidation, including “jokes” about canceling elections altogether.
But as we saw in Hungary earlier this year, even entrenched autocratic regimes can lose power when a motivated opposition wins an election with results “too big to rig.” And the current bunch of wannabe autocrats in power are widely renowned for their flailing incompetence and long history of ignominious failure. If you’re a U.S. voter, your vote will matter more than ever in November 2026.
Vote.org is a renowned non-partisan nonprofit dedicated to helping Americans exercise their right to vote. Their eponymous free website contains online tools to help with checking voter registration status, registering to vote, finding your polling place, requesting and tracking vote by mail ballots, and more.
The details and deadlines on all of these vary by state, so Vote.org’s tools are built to show you the information relevant to where you live. As voter registration has been a longstanding target of partisan attacks on elections, this newsletter recommends that U.S. voters check their voter registration status early and often.
