Cliff Jones Jr. · Cliff’s Info Dump

1. Conspiracies exist: secret dealings, political assassinations, psychological warfare...

2. Most secrets are never told; most conspiracies are never uncovered.

3. This is depressing.

4. It feels much better to have things figured out.

5. It feels even better to be in on a secret, and better still to reveal it.

6. If someone doesn’t believe what you believe, it feels better to assume they’re the one who’s wrong.

7. The scope of the theorized conspiracy expands to explain why it isn’t universally believed.

8. This continues until you have the most outlandish, all-encompassing theories explaining why no one in their right mind could possibly be aware of the Truth save a select few superhuman geniuses (or maybe just the One).

9. Admitting you were wrong feels terrible (see point 6).

10. It’s much easier to gradually expand the conspiracies you believe in, each new theory supporting and justifying the last until you have a real point 8 situation on your hands.

11. The internet amplifies this whole process, making “conspiracy nuts” a bigger problem than ever.

12. Conspiracies still exist.
