Hello from Clemo,
A quick little note from us today to say if you’re free on Thursday 14 May, 7pm, there are a few tickets still available for the Curtis Garner event celebrating his new novel Orange.
We’ll have an interview with Curtis and Jaimie before a Q&A, time for conversation and a book signing.
It’s a book perfect for those interested in coming-of-age stories, the queer experience, identity, and the importance of family, friendship, and self-preservation.
Radio Times said: ‘If you’re a fan of the tenderness of nuanced relationships found in Sally Rooney, you’ll want to pick up a copy of Orange’
Dazed said: ‘An effective exploration of how we live and experience different pressures together and apart’
Our bookseller Sonny said: ‘Orange is a novel characterised by contrast: sticky, youthful love in a quiet fishing village, compared with the fleeting, vibrant encounters of the city in the age of technology; two versions of Daniel Orange, two that don’t align, no matter how he tries to push them together’
Thanks to everyone who supports our bookshop events, they’re a wonderful way to spend evenings out in the community, supporting local businesses and the arts!
Thanks for reading! This post is public so feel free to share it.
