Today is the equinox and these last few days have been blessed with golden light and the last glimpse of warmth.
On Friday I released a new album ‘Night Blossoms’, my first ambient/electronic full album after releasing individual tracks ‘Vagues Imaginaires’ and ‘Zermatt’.
It was recorded at This Museum Is Not Obsolete in Ramsgate, playing, dancing, (pulling my hair) with a funny looking modular synth called the digisound 80, an omnichord, and the microcosm pedal (this is the time I fell in love with it and I bought one a couple of years later!).
Night Blossoms is also available on all streaming platforms ~
It comes with an A6 art booklet which you can find on bandcamp. Yes, it contains photos of flowers and cats under the moonlight.
about the album :
“Night blossoms is the result of experiments using an omnichord and digisound 80 modular synthesiser - a vintage synthesiser you could build from a magazine subscription. Using effect pedals, a tape recorder, sequencers and patches, I’ve been exploring a grainy Landscape where flowers and vegetables grow under the moonlight.
Night Blossoms comes with a mini art book of nighttime analogue photography.
I was at home in France a lot last year, as one of my parents was really ill. At the time I was feeling very confused and sad, but during the month of March, with the winter finally coming to an end, I was looking at all the plum, apple and pear blossoms in the garden, like a sign that everything was going to be okay. I decided to spend some time at dusk and night trying to capture these flowers in the dark, like a glimpse of hope.
The visuals and the music - although created at different times - reflect the feelings of haziness, the longing for soothing melodies, daydreaming, slight confusion and the relief of seeing a little light in the darkness.”
This month I have felt ready to dive into autumn, its beautiful colours, fresh air and soft light. I’ve welcomed the equinox and the new season with joy.
Take care x
Clémentine
