Jenn and some friends had been maintaining a database of sewing patterns scattered across some Google docs and Shopify metafields. She took the time to polish it up and release it as an online sewing pattern database.
It’s crazy how much of the day-to-day job of a knowledge worker revolves around copying and pasting.

I’m very comfortable running my own VMs, nginx load balancers, Varnish caches, etc. That stack delivers amazing performance at a great price point, but it also comes with significant ops burden. When Jenn and I were travelling in Europe, we often tinkered with some side projects. These required uploading large files regularly. The files were 99% unchanged from upload to upload. For example, a ZIP file with a node.js app, or a JAR file with a Scala app, where the bulk was made up of third-party dependencies that never changed.
