R.S.A. Garcia is a Nebula and Sturgeon Award winning writer of speculative fiction, as well as a Locus, Ignyte, and Eugie Foster Award finalist. Her debut science fiction mystery novel, Lex Talionis, received a starred review from Publishers Weekly and the Silver Medal for Best Scifi/Fantasy/Horror Ebook from the Independent Publishers Awards (IPPY 2015). The first book in her new science fantasy duology, The Nightward, was long-listed for the British Science Fiction Awards and the Locus Awards in 2025. She has published short fiction with Clarkesworld, Uncanny Magazine, Strange Horizons, The Sunday Morning Transport, and other award-winning magazines and anthologies.

She lives in the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago with an extended family and far too many cats.
