Dear readers,
You probably noticed your inbox hasn’t been crowded lately. Writers are taking a break. It could be for a number of reasons: being busy at work, different summer routines, general fatigue. I have lots of updates to share with you, but in the last month and a half or so, writing didn’t feel like the right medium.
In my daily life, when I have an idea, or answer a question about language learning, I usually don’t write. I either meet up with the person, or I turn on voice messages. Even my long journaling sessions turned into bullet lists and audio snippets, or messy dictation. AI also got me used to bouncing back ideas in an audio format.
But I still read, and I know how convenient reading can be when you’re in a busy place or just want some downtime. So I figured I’d ask you.
Would you be interested in listening to short weekly audio snippets? It would include insights, tips or thoughts regarding my learning journey, and how I’m trying to keep doing things that matter to me.
I like keeping the tone of catching up with a friend and fellow learner, like I do today in short private messages. If this casual format sounds fun to you, I’d be happy to share. However, if a 5-minute audio format doesn’t sound appealing to you, I’ll just keep the written newsletter.
Speaking of, I don’t plan on stopping the written newsletter. I have an amazing Notion habit tracker I made, and I would love to share it with you. I also have my Anki method to share! But it would only be every other month, when I can take time to write.
What do you think? Do we keep the once-in-a-while newsletter? Do we just make it shorter and more anecdotal? Should we try the audio format?
Remember, it’s OK to be busy and prioritise other things. As long as you feel at peace, you can take it slow. And you, what have you been up to?
Talk to you soon,
Lou
