BooksIsland 布可斯岛 is a pretty new independent art bookshop in Hangzhou that I visited while exploring the indie publishing scene there, and it was very nice getting to chat with Toby (who runs it with Adu) that afternoon, learning about the shop, the kind of work they carry, among many other things. I was very impressed by the Hamilton song masterfully delivered by Toby (including the rap parts), although I’m not entirely sure how we got there…
A ZineMap poster (along with my comic zine It’s All Fate) is now hanging out at the shop next to the aforementioned zines by two tattoo artists from Shanghai. Stop by if you’re in the area! They’ve got some fun stuff. (And please don’t tell Toby I drew him.)
