On Writing and AI

For all the work I’ve done on improving my Hugo workflow, there’s one thing automation can’t do.

Automation can’t write for me.

I know, I know… AI is all the rage and I could find some agent to put out slop on this site, but that is precisely what I build this site to avoid.

Writing is the fun part.

A place for me to write is why this site exists.

I don’t write for a “side hustle” or to make money or to attract a following. I don’t even keep track of how many people view this site, much less do I sell anything on it.

I write because I enjoy writing and want to share what I’ve learned, sometimes for my own memory and other times because I hope a solution I’ve found can help someone else.

So, as great as AI probably is for some, it’s not for me, at least not for this site. Honestly, I hope if you’re reading this it isn’t for you either.
