Almost all the photos used in the photo-illustration for my upcoming project Broken Land were taken within about 1-2 square miles of my apartment. These are some of the neighbors who have waddled, crawled, sprinted, slithered, and flown their way into the project. I noticed as I was posting these that most of the subjects were actively aware of me photographing them, for what it’s worth.
Canada Goose on Neighborhood Watch. Never make eye contact. :)
Still being watched… impossible not to make eye contact. :)
Even more watching… this time by a local Great Blue Heron. Indifferent about eye contact. :)
So many snakes… so much eye contact.
Daytime appearance of a barn owl in his house, as seen through my Dad’s telescope. Sleepy eye contact.
One of the non-local images in the project — roadside bones from Fishlake National Forest in Richfield, Utah (near Pando Aspen Clone). Negative on the eye contact.
