Dark on You
It’s a barren city
The dark on me and the dark on you,
not connecting
The small charm dropped in the current is having it rough
The pavement is thick with ice
I can hear the steel break the slab
I can hear the spurs of winter splinter the surface
shatter the frozen fabric,
such alluring destruction
I see your hammer and raise you a lasting stare
Tolerance incapacitates your might
The occult here, my darling, is affection
You will never see it coming

Grace
Did I intend for my own demons to never leave me alone
Will I deconstruct the haunted spaces I built myself,
and can I survive my own exquisite dreams
Here, I fly, but never fail to hold my breath
when what once was paradise passes by, over and over
A million flawless stars, brilliant and taunting
New everything rushes past
but I am sick with affection
Behind open eyes I am guarding a rare thing
They call it a perverse delusion
I call it indestructible grace
