Today, we are breaking it down with some recent purchases, incoming to my closet, and what’s on my mind as we get deeper into summer. I can’t believe it’s going to be July, then August, then we start fresh with fashion week and all of that insanity. Time is going quickly but these purchases have fit my slow, intentional, lazy summer very well. Time doesn’t have to speed up just yet.
I won’t overly dissect this because I know I’ve been doing a lot of jewel-focused chit chatter, but I am really obsessed with statement jewelry. My Tiffany & Co Elsa Peretti bracelet birthday gift hasn’t helped with that. I’ve been loving wearing it layered with my Cartier watch, or just plain for daily. I won’t talk about Anna Grace Blower again but her necklace is one of my all-time favorites and fits the kaftan with just a necklace vibe perfectly.
I also did a Juju Vera purchase whilst in New York and can’t wait for them to arrive (hint — a pair of decadent earrings I may be wearing on vacation next week). Louis Abel also caught my eye (no pun intended) with these gorgeous earrings. The energy is relaxed but thoughtful — a piece that says it all and that you can pair down with a bikini or be extra with a headscarf.
Diptyque sent me a package of their summer scents and I fell over the moon in love with many of them. I have been wearing the Lemongrass & Geranium scent everyday. The Citronelle candle is also amazing (light it outside for a romantic dinner) and the hair mist for when you’re coming back from the beach and need a fresh spritz.
Jone is a beautiful, interesting brand I got introduced to when the founder reached out via dm and I was so happy to pick out a few things! Utilizing textiles made by hand, each piece is rich and unique. They have one-of-a-kind pieces but also matching skirt and headscarf combinations, which is also what I’m going to wear on vacation next week! I’m so excited. To me, how perfectly chic is it to have your top and bottom matching?
I am also patiently awaiting a delivery from Asceno and their collaboration with one of my favorite people I’ve ever met in this industry, Alexis Foreman. Offering up kaftans (I selected black) and light layers, this is exactly the kind of thing I want to be wearing all summer. Keeping it light, chic, whilst overly accessorizing.
Also while in New York I purchased my first-ever pair of open-toe shoes. I know. I mean, I lived in New York for ten years and never wanted my dogs out! Can you blame me?? Now, being in LA, I fear it is time to unleash them. I splurged on The Row slingback heels in red (black version here) and haven’t looked back (my toes are pretty happy).
Matthew and I stumbled upon Olive Ateliers over the weekend — a shop I have constantly heard about but never checked out. Boy, were we missing out. The Los Angeles store is gorgeous, offering up vintage French baskets, mirrors, huge pots from China, tables…a treasure-trove to behold. We purchased an old French mirror that is now in our dining room cupboard, a vintage pot, and some other miscellaneous but absolutely necessary things. I was in heaven.
Martini glasses I love as another birthday gift (thank you my sweetest Emily).
I also splurged on this incredible brass mirror + shelf combination from Club Sourced. I have been looking for something Gio-Ponti esque for our home, and knew as soon as my friend dm’d this piece to me (thank you Donna) that it was the one. I picture it hanging in our dining room but much play will be had figuring out the perfect placement for it. I am also happy to say I am taking a break from interior splurges for the immediate future (wallet needs some breathing room).
That is all for now my dear friends. Cheers to a gorgeous, fulfilling, glowy and relaxed summer.
Until next time xx
