Hit up the central library media sale. 9 DVDs of questionable taste for £3!
Sometimes I take pictures and share them on the internet.

90’s Cadians are one of my favourite GW designs of all time. The new ones are good, but I like these better.

A “poetry is in the streets” art event happened at the end of April, but Wednesday was the first time I’d been in town since then. Spotted this display on my way to buy some coffee
👀
Got a knock at the door just before 9am, and when I answered it I was presented with a hamper from work as part of my long-service award. Lots of lovely biscuits and treats for this weekend 🙌🏻
Finally got around to finishing this Doctor Spork terrain piece for Warhammer 40K 2nd Edition. 12 year old me is giddy at finally having one of these to put on the table.
I genuinely don’t think I’ve seen any sun or blue skies in over 2 weeks 😭
Feels good to get something in the books for 2026 already, given I hadn’t picked up a brush since July
It’s a bit snowy out ❄️🌨️
Middle child has recently developed an interest in 80’s movies, so I got a bunch more to add to our home library. Time to get ripping.
“We have to go back, Marty! Back to the future!” Buying a standalone audio player in 2025 was not on my bingo card, but here we are…
I managed to get a veritable pile of 40K and WHFB terrain primed this morning, ready for painting when I get the chance. I’m looking forward to when I can fill a tabletop with these!
The hottest release of 1992 just dropped ❤️
Nosfrogatu! My partner loves Dracula, and is coming up to the time of year she does her regular re-read, so when I saw this on Bluesky earlier this week I knew I had to get her a copy.
Did the thing I said I wasn’t going to do, then spent the weekend printing accessories for it. I’m amazed at how much this tech has moved on in just a couple of years; the A1 Mini is so far ahead of my last Elegoo printer it’s ridiculous.
Finally dipping back into a project I first started in 2021(!) - a small 40K Crusade project. Many more steps to go, but drybrushing and Xpress Color is carrying the day. All the black armour was painted in about an hour.
In a turn of events that will shock no one who follows me on social media, I have a new keyboard: a Lowfree Flow84. First impressions are fantastic.
I painted up these cliffs by Dark Fantastic Mills, to give myself more options for photographing miniatures on. Really fun to paint, and also really quick. Bright green flock for nostalgia’s sake.
Adeptus Custodes Combat Patrol, for Warhammer 40,000. Painted almost entirely with the John Blanche paint sets, and - although it took me ~4 months to complete - was actually a bit of a speed paint. #WarhammerCommunity #Paintslam25
Finally able to post this lovely little pond found in the Cruickshank Botanic Garden at Aberdeen University
We went to a special exhibition at the Art Gallery, displaying a collection relating to the sea and associated myths. In one corner was a screen playing clips and trailers from sea monster movies. For some reason, this particular one tickled me enough I wanted a reminder of it.
New home server, who dis?
The new Deathrattle miniatures are really, really, nice to put together. I assembled everything in the box much quicker than I expected. Onwards to paint!
Sometimes long, dull, meetings are useful. Today I managed to finish building this unit of skeletons that have been on my workbench since… October.
Up next after the Knights are finished: “Project Smooth Brain”
A rare spot of weeknight painting
Another wee dude ready for priming tomorrow. The Combat Patrol rules in White Dwarf have me a blast of inspiration, so I’m building a bunch of these Armigers. I’m going to have at least 3 different pairings by the end of it! ⚔️
5 minutes with 3 spray cans and this GW bunker is decent enough to stick on the table as-is. Pick out just a few details, like the lights, and it will look great.
I’m quite happy with how this cape I painted the other day turned out. Especially for the relatively short amount of time spent on it.
It felt like a slow start to the year, hobby-wise , but I actually think I’m doing alright. I’d like to focus more on consistency this year than pure output, but if I can get to 100, that would be nice!
Our fridge broke. The replacement arrived today, with this stamped on the front. Oh no.
My leg evidently makes a good pillow for strange dogs.

My remote development box has been such a useful little computer to have available that I’m building myself a whole other raspberry pi based server for running other useful utilities. This one has had a slight spec-bump so I can run even more things.
I got the label-maker out, to celebrate finally finding a case that fits my remote dev box.
I’ve had the rough idea for a Space Marine chapter design in my head for a while. I’m trying to get it out by working on the Combat Patrol, but I haven’t figured out all the smaller details yet.
I’ve been working on my first ever iOS/iPad app, and it’s starting to take shape. It’s basically just for tracking stats related to my Warhammer hobby. It might never see public release, but I’m enjoying the process.
Fun fact: this hot chocolate nearly killed me, and is how I learned I’ve developed an allergy to oat milk.
Oh to be a cat, sometimes
I got myself a new monitor. It’s ridiculously big, but I’m loving it.
Time to go (LEGO) dinosaur hunting!
Spotted at Shot’N’Roll.
Spotted at Books & Beans in Aberdeen
I came back from London with a taste for a Cortado.
By coincidence, we happen to be going in that direction…
Sometimes (just sometimes) Aberdeen gets a dash of colour that lifts the soul.
Off to that there London Town.
