i hate censoring titles but didnt want piss in the subject line when you might be at work in church. you can listen here. thanks for being cool. see ya -chris
my sleep is still all fucked up. im not going to go on and on about it. just want to let you know where im coming from. itd be nice if all news anchors, reporters started off with how theyre feeling, how theyre doing personally. wheres their mind at. not that it affects the job. oh no, your professional. it does a little bit. they might say things a certain way. like if lester holt says something, i might interpret it different if hes says yeah, i didnt get a lot of sleep. i did drink a little bit yesterday. and my wife got on me about the drinking and i was like, im lester fucking holt, all right? and then shes like, in this house, were equals. and i was like, youre right. and im thinking about that a little bit while im talking. i could be better in my relationship. i made all that up. i dont know if lester holts married. i dont know how he gets loans. i dont know if he drinks. that was a character that i made up and i named lester holt. and in my mind, i envisioned him as lester holt, but its not. its got nothing to do with him. i dont know anything about his personal life. im sure if things happen in his personal life, which they must, it doesnt affect his work. but maybe, a little bit maybe. you tell me lester holt, the top of the game, doesnt get enough sleep. for whatever reason, he just cant sleep. it doesnt affect anything he does? he drinks more coffee. he does whatever he has to do to get out there and look exactly like he always looks. but theres probably a little difference. and wouldnt it be nice if he said something. It would add context if the local reporter somewhere out in the field, says, im about to tell you about this hurricane. but you know what? im not feeling too great. i thought id be further along in my career. i didnt know i was going to be stuck in this city for this long. nothing against this city but i wanted to be in a bigger market. im starting to come to realize, i dont think its going to happen for me. this is a great place and everything. im just saying thats on my mind right now. some of you watching this right now can relate. not everything is how you thought it would be. thats a part of life, much like this hurricane thats coming. lets talk about that high pressure system coming in from the north. i am not going through anything personally. did i think this podcast would be a little bit more well received? i dont know. i dont know what i thought for this podcast. ive been doing it for so long that theres only like 150 episodes available. ive done 2000 something episodes of this show in different forms, news and no news. those are the only two forms there are. you cant listen to those episodes. i will eventually be putting out old episodes. im going to listen to them and then ill talk about them and then you can hear the episode. thatll be a substack thing. thats gonna be, you gotta be paid on substack, which theres not a lot of people there. maybe that doesnt sound worth the money to you. im not gonna argue. things are tough right now. gotta bring that up anytime you talk about people spending money. things are tough right now. i know, moneys tight. you cant afford rent. youre eating cat food. but would you subscribe to my substack? i know youve sold family heirlooms in order to put gas in your car. still, the substack. bring those old comic books in, see how much theyre worth. not as much as you think. youre gonna be offering an amount of money that you find insulting. you take it. its still enough for a few months of my substack. so yeah, i know youd be held onto those comic books for forever. youre like, one day, im gonna cash them in for big bucks. nobodys gonna give you those big bucks. im sorry. everyone who had the comic book backup plan is going to have to come to that hard truth at some time. unless youve got something insane. you might have some crazy like the first superman. its worth a million dollars. well, great. but whos paying a million dollars for the first superman? i dont know how much the first superman is worth, but its worth a lot of money. i dont know why, it probably doesnt have a lot of entertainment value. you cant open it up and read it because its worth too much money. and even if you could, its not gonna be good. you just look at it and say, oh, i have this thing. and this is the beginning of superman. who even cares about superman though? kids, kids dont care about superman. an adult who cares about superman, alright, youre allowed. im not even getting on you about the comic book superhero thing. but if youre gonna be a comic book superhero guy, youre not going, batman? thats the best one. batmans the best one, you know that. and youre gonna be, oh, im a superman guy? supermans kinda stupid. batman is cool. batmans like the only cool one. batman and wolverine. those are the only two cool superheroes. and i loved spider-man when i was a kid. i read a lot of spider-man comic books. and i was dyslexic and i hated to read, but i would read. well, then youre just reading in little bubbles. its kind of easy. and theres pictures, which really helps. why all books dont have pictures with the bubbles, it holds your attention better. i know, youre making the images in your mind. its better for the imagination. my mind is so busy with trying to read the words, i could use some help with the imagery. then it moves along. its nice. im aware of all the practical reasons why nobody is turning novels into comic books. i dont think it actually should happen. im saying i would read them more. maybe not though because i dont read comic books now. i havent read comic books since i started high school. it was like a natural break. i didnt even say, oh, im too old for comic books now. i just didnt care anymore. i know adults who are super into comic books and it seems like a lot of work and a lot of things to keep up on. i would be reading comic books this entire time. thats gotta get very repetitive. how many stories do they have? nothing against any adult comic book people. thats like normal now. thats not even weird to be an adult comic book person. it used to be kind of but now everybodys in a suspended state of adolescence for the rest of their life, which is better. i have no desire to mimic the adulthood of my youth. oh, let me try to be like what grownups used to look like. no, i just want to be comfortable. ok, ive said way too much of nothing. and theres news to get to here.
ice officer charged in minneapolis shooting released in texas after immediate extradition rejected
so texas is argentina now? if youre an ice agent and you commit a crime, texas will harbor you. now, how does this work if somebody commits a crime in texas? like, say, i dont know. throws a water balloon full of piss at the governor. no one should do that. but im saying, if somebody did that, and then after they throw the piss balloon at the governor, direct hit, covered in piss, governors covered in piss, but before they can arrest the piss balloon bandit, the piss balloon bandit has fled to minnesota. now, texas is like, we need the piss balloon bandit. the governor of minnesota, who is it, tim walz stil? well, whoever its going to say. sorry, the piss balloon bandits actually the new mayor of st. paul.
theres so many stories of these cops checking the flock cameras, spying on whoever, just misusing the flock cameras. primarily what theyre used for is misuse. out of all those stories, this one is the most pathetic. imagine working with this guy. every two seconds, hes checking the flock camera, and hes always muttering under his breath, oh, shes at the yoga studio.
what?
hes like, nothing.
dude, you got to get off the flat camera. youre killing yourself. and youre going to get busted for doing the flat camera because youve done it like at least a thousand times.
i havent done it that many times.
youre constantly checking the flockcamera. shes still at the yoga studio. the yoga class is an hour. youve checked 20 times in the past 15 minutes.
i want to know why the breakup happened. im guessing she dumped him, if hes checking that often. hes obviously clingy, controlling person and she got out of there. shes gotta feel pretty good about that decision to get out of that relationship after this. but it is unsettling to be flocked.
ratko miladyak, murderous butcher of bosnia, dies at 83
dolly parton and tim curry are still at two. this murderous butcher does not get to be three in the death comes in threes thing. hes a murderous butcher. he should have died a while ago. he lived way too long. the only good thing about a murderous butcher living a long life is if the body is failing, then he becomes a helpless elderly person when he was once a murderous butcher. i dont know if thats what happened. he might have been one of those vivacious 83 year olds. well, hes in hell now.
yayoi kusama: japanese avant-garde artist dies aged 97
a lot of people dying. but theyre not young. 97 she won. i dont know who this person is. i apologize for my ignorance. i go to the art museum, but i dont read the little plaques next to everything. i just look at it and i enjoy and i move on because i cant remember names. if the artist isnt monet or van gogh, one of the bigs, im not gonna remember their name, but obviously a huge artists, avant-garde artists, thats really good. headline death, youre big time, you made it. and 97 years old, thats the sweet spot. 100, its creeping people out. 97, people are hoping youre gonna get to 100, so theyre not like, whens this person gonna die already? but then you die at 97, people are sad, im sure, but great run. 80s, good run. 90s, now thats a hell of a run. and now im gonna check out some of her art later.
u.s. says chinese hackers broke into justice department, nasa, federal reserve, senate
thats like everything. they broke into everything? did we have norton antivirus installed on all the computers? is that how they got in? nobody installed the norton antivirus. well, if china comes across a folder that says epstein files, it would be great if you just kinda let that one out into the public. they wouldnt do that though. they would use it. why would you get something that good and then just give it away? but they just hacked their way into the whole government and is somebody maybe gonna get in trouble for this? probably not. therell be some social media post that makes no sense blaming gavin newsom
gotta think a lot of them were probably killed in the flood too. every fucking day its a fire or a flood. stay on high ground, away from trees. one last story and then i gotta go
canada announced retaliatory tariffs on wide range of us goods
hope you got syrup and maple leaf cookies. i saw this is supposed to drive up the price of toilet paper. so theres another thing that you can be like, oh my god, can you believe how much toilet paper costs now? we are gonna have to get bidets like europeans, which is cleaner. i dont know why we all dont have them, but we dont because were americans. we dont use bidets. a lot of people have them now. theyre great and all that. but toilet paper is going to be more expensive. i dont know what else. this was completely avoidable, obviously. you know that. i dont get into the whole whatever his name is. the guy who started this, you know that guy. i dont feel like saying his name. but whatever got into his mind that canadas ripping us off, i dont even know what that means. he doesnt. nobody knows what that means. and if somebody tries to tell you what that means, get out of that conversation. its pointless.
