Me? A Stepmom?

First of all, apologies on the delay for this post as I’ve been on vacation but wanted to get this personal post out to you guys before the weekend! So here we go….

“Do you want to meet my kids?”

Seb asked me that four years ago. I knew I should say yes. I knew the right answer. But if I’m being honest with you, I hesitated.

Because I knew early on that I was going to be with this man. I just knew in my core. Which naturally sent my head straight to his kids. I’m going to be a stepmom. But the only stepmoms I had ever known were Cinderella’s and the one from The Parent Trap. Villains, both of them. Cold, scheming, universally hated by every child in the film. That’s it. We’ve been brainwashed to think that a step anything is just plain evil.

So why would I want to be a stepmom?

Never in a million years did I think I would be one. Or have step-kids. Or four kids under one roof. It was not on my bingo card.

And yet……..

*I should clarify- I'm not technically a stepmom since I'm not married. But I take the responsibility of being Seb's partner just as seriously as he takes being mine, and no paperwork is going to change that.
