In an attempt to drag appointed Sen. Darline Graham over the finish line in Tuesday’s South Carolina Senate runoff, President Donald Trump traveled to Myrtle Beach to rally the Republican faithful.

Trump’s willingness to campaign in person for Graham speaks to how much he believes he has on the line in her race against Rep. Ralph Norman. Trump urged her selection by Gov. Henry McMaster following the sudden death of her brother — the late Sen. Lindsey Graham — and then cajoled Darline Graham into running for a full six-year term.

At a moment where Trump’s endorsement has been shown to be less decisive in GOP primaries than it once was, the president is clearly hoping a Graham win on Tuesday gives him his mojo back.

I went through Trump’s entire Myrtle Beach speech line by line — and picked out the quotes from the president you need to see. They’re below.

To the Lines!

  1. “I wanna say a very special hello to Myrtle Beach, the home of 90 great golf courses. We're gonna bring a lot of, get everybody down to play. We're gonna get them all.”

Everybody go play golf! A real man of the people! And away we go!

  1. “And I’ll make you a deal that if Darline wins, I’ll come down and play the best golfer in Myrtle Beach in a match. I will see who wins.”

No, he won’t. And if he did, he would lose. Which is why he won’t play.

  1. “But I'm in a very good mood tonight. I didn't mention this to Darline because today we just learned that the big decision of the United States Supreme Court came down and the military/ballroom, this beautiful, magnificent complex being built on the hallowed grounds of our cherished White House, which is so vital for national security, will be, it's gonna be the greatest of its kind anywhere that's ever been built and it's something that presidents have wanted to be built for over 150 years.”

On Friday, Chief Justice John Roberts allowed construction of the White House ballroom to begin again. And, yes, Trump cares more about the ballroom than he does about anything else happening in the country.

  1. “And the military is being taken care of because of the military component for drones and for missiles and for bulletproof glass and for all of the things that you've needed.”

He’s still talking about the ballroom. But this sentence makes literally zero sense.

  1. “And our construction is under budget and ahead of schedule. I always build under budget and ahead of schedule.”

False. The Washington Post has reported the ballroom costs will exceed $900 million — several hundred million more than the original estimate.
