I haven’t written about the sociopathic Cambridge University con artist Jason Arday, who just killed himself. I don’t care about him, and I didn’t care much about the controversy. Academia is sick and broken, and the universities are being run by worthless idiots who are bizarrely committed to shamefully dumb racial jihad, case study #12,974. But this is entirely false, and it demands a response:
Only a black man would have had his fraud so ruthlessly scrutinized and documented. His errors were turned into spectacle! The media would never have done that to a white academic.
Oh, fuck off. Name something more common than a media frenzy over a professor who got caught making it all up.
Professor Stephen Ambrose of the University of New Orleans, deservedly attacked as a plagiarist, including being attacked over and over and over again in the New York Times.
John Darsee looked like this when he was caught fabricating data in his medical lab at Harvard:
His research fraud was covered everywhere, aggressively and in emotionally heightened language about betrayal, including a long series of urgent stories in the New York Times. They only pushed John Darsee off that mountain because he was a black man, you see.
The physicist Jan Hendrik Schön of Bell Labs, whose research fraud was aggressively covered absolutely everywhere, including a series of stories in the New York Times. Here’s how a British newspaper made a spectacle of this poor black man’s tragedy:
He was…looking a little pale that day.
And of course, the historian with the well-timed office flood that destroyed all his research notes, the infamous Michael Bellesiles, whose fraud sat at the center of long and richly deserved international feeding frenzy, including a long series of stories in the New York Times.
Jonathan Pruitt. Marc Tessier-Lavigne. Want me to go on? Here’s a list. Here’s a long story from last year about “The Worsening Spectre of Academic Fraud.”
The media feeding frenzy over Jason Arday’s dumb bullshit was normal. Because he was a terrible liar, and a relentless fantasist, and it was obvious. Cambridge served the story to the media on a platter, still steaming, with an array of delightful side-dishes. Ohhhh, they only pushed him off that mountain because he was a black man, they would never have done that to a white academic! They would, they have many times, and they will again. The people who peddle this dimwitted slop need to pull their heads out of their asses.
