Checks & Balances is a newsletter of the Society for the Rule of Law Institute.
As our democratic institutions and the Rule of Law face mounting threats, the Society for the Rule of Law rises to their defense leading timely programming, expanding our podcast, and continuing to grow our impact on law school campuses.
This week, we recap how our weekly Checks & Balances podcast continues to grow as a forum for incisive, principled conversation, and you can see a summary our five newest episodes below. We also took a look at our recent webinar on the Federal Vacancies Reform Act, examining how presidents of both parties have used acting officials to sidestep Senate confirmation and what reforms could restore the process the Constitution envisioned.
Additionally, we are excited to introduce four new Rule of Law Ambassadors joining our growing network of law students and academics for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Looking ahead to next week, our Executive Director, Gregg Nunziata, will join Principles First to discuss the present state of Congress and what the road to reform, if necessary, looks like.
Read about these updates, and more, in our latest members-only biweekly newsletter below.
