Look around your kitchen. Whether it’s a microwave, a rice cooker, or an air conditioner, there’s a good chance it came from Shunde (顺德 - Shùndé), a district in Guangdong Province.
Known as the “Home Appliance Capital of China” (中国家电之都, Zhōngguó jiādiàn zhī dū ), Shunde (顺德 - Shùndé) is home to global giants like Midea (美的, MěiDì) and Galanz.
But Shunde (顺德 - Shùndé) is no longer just making traditional appliances. Today, its factories are filled with industrial robots (机器人 - jīqìrén), and some even use humanoid robots to inspect washing machines. At one factory, it takes only 26 seconds to build an entire dishwasher!
