On 19 August 2026, Unitree Robotics listed on Shanghai’s STAR Market, known in Chinese as 科创板 (kēchuàngbǎn). Its issue price was RMB 150.80 per share, and official reporting described a 152-day journey from IPO acceptance to listing.

The debut rapidly became more than a technology story. It offered a compact lesson in how Chinese social media connects innovation, public markets and personal wealth.

The backstory helps explain the attention. Official reporting traces founder Wang Xingxing’s early robot work to an XDog prototype in 2015, while the company began in 2016. Unitree later released its full-size humanoid H1 in 2023 and its G1 model in 2024.

The cultural signal is clear:

Robots are no longer discussed only as laboratory demonstrations. They are also discussed through product launches, manufacturing, customers and 上市 (shàngshì)—a company going public.
