I have been sceptical about how much involvement I want from AI in music, as for me, the creative process is very much the point. However, with OpenMusic offering stem separation of its AI-generated tracks, perhaps it’s a great ideation tool.
Andy Wallace mixed and engineered some of my favourite albums, and this great interview is a typical example of the humbleness of many people like this. The interview expects some magical answer to their success, but often it’s just the right place at the right time and making the most of what’s in front of you.
Well, duh.
It’s really all too easy, isn’t it? Or is this concern much the same as when we worried that writing words down would mean we wouldn’t remember any more?
