These past few days, the sky has (finally) cleared, making us forget just how particularly wet the last few weeks have been… I saw rivers overflowing in an unprecedented way, changing the appearance of even the most familiar landscapes. I was torn between the fascination of seeing birds enjoying these new territories and the dread at the thought of the resulting damage…
Ultimately, it was the blooming mimosa trees that gave me a glimmer of hope, reminding me that the seasons follow one another and that these short days and overflowing water will give way to flourishing vegetation and longer days—and that my birthday is coming up :)
Fueled by this spark, I ventured out for a walk in the rain to test a new lens… It allowed me to see how, even under a sky heavy with clouds, raindrops can illuminate nature! On my way I found a large mimosa tree radiating its joyful color and looked for a few droplets… and snap, there’s now in the box!
Since then, this image has brought sunshine into my digital world, while I wait for the sun to settle in more permanently… And this prospect gives me a boost of energy I thought was no longer possible…
Seeing these vibrant colors, I realize how much I’d been hibernating, in my own little world, disconnected from a certain reality… Is it the same for you? Anyway, I do hope that you too can feel the magic that I felt when seeing those droplets!
The convergence of returning energy, reduced household logistical constraints, and a deadline has allowed me to embark on a project that’s been nagging at me for some time…
What’s this project? Haha! Surprise :) Now that I’ve mentioned it, I have one less pretext to delay showing you the first results !
In the meantime, I wish you a wonderful March :)
