Today, we want you to meet Sara Choi, a professional race car driver who uses ChatGPT to prepare for races and run her business. We hope her story sparks ideas for how you can use AI in your field.

Sara Choi grew up in a Korean-American family in Hawaii. At 15, she found refuge with a group of “car kids,” spending nights at Oahu cruise meets and working at a local tuning shop.

In her early 20s, she moved to Osaka, where she was mentored by a professional driver and later transitioned from street racing to competitive drifting, a motorsport that originated in Japan in the 1970s. Today she competes across Asia and still builds her own cars.

She uses ChatGPT like both a mechanic and a strategist, helping her fine-tune drift-car alignment and wheel-spec setups while also managing her competition calendar and reviewing sponsor offers.

I also didn’t want it to just be a one-weekend-hype moment. I wanted to understand how to turn it into something long-term that strengthens my credibility as a serious driver and opens more doors in the future.”
