Allow me to introduce you to a new, fun concept for November that I’ve already introduced to friends and family with much jubilation and humor: No Nonsense November.
It’s not too late to begin…
We’re heading into the holidays, a time for gratitude, gifts, and family patience, but until then, you’ll need to build up your capacity for bullshit and giving to others by giving to yourself, and by protecting your peace. This November, I invite you to ruthlessly free yourself from nonsense.
Let your tolerance for trash be zero. Suffer no foolery. This is not your time to twinkle like a little angel on a Christmas tree; this is your TIME TO BE TOXIC!
WRITE EVERY EMAIL IN ALL CAPS!
Don’t feel like going to the party? Don’t go! Don’t explain! Don’t apologize!
Someone’s texts annoying you? Block them without a shred of explanation until December 1st or possibly forever.
Find yourself irritated by ads on Instagram? Delete the app.
Hate one of your husband’s shirts? Don’t say a word; just throw it away.
An employee underperforming? Fire them now.
Uncomfortable on your own sofa? Sell it and buy a new one.
Too many forms at the doctor’s office? Tell the receptionist that your hand hurts and you’re unable to write.
Kid hasn’t picked up their toys? Burn them while you scream, “goodbye mess!”
Turn on your own unhinged mode.
This is your month to be selfish. NO NONSENSE NOVEMBER. Write it on a Post-it note and stick it everywhere. Pin it to your Apple Notes. Text it to everyone you know. Repeat it daily. Make it your mantra.
ANYTHING THAT BOTHERS YOU MUST BE ELIMINATED!
For some of you single ladies, to fully achieve No Nonsense November, you may need to take an additional step and institute No Men November as well. Block all the men in your phone. Block them in your DMs. Avoid dating. Delete Hinge. Let no man mansplain. Speak only to women until December. This may include your dad and brother. It’s fine; you’ll speak to them again soon.
I am not joking.
Yeah… yeaaaaaah. I already blocked two people. Already deleted both Instagram and FB from my phone. Already fired an underperforming contractor. Actively brainstorming ways to further reduce nonsense from my life. Send your best suggestions!
Enjoy!
How might you institute No Nonsense November in your life?
