Hello loves,

Spring has truly sprung here in Bristol this week and I am feeling the wonderful shift in energy that the new season brings. Yesterday, I marked the equinox in gentle ways. I worked with the windows wide open and didn’t force myself to stare at my laptop or phone all day. Instead, I pottered inside and outside, letting myself dream and plan for the season ahead. I made a nourishing lunch and ate it in the garden in the sunshine. I did a little spring cleaning and prepped a meal to share with my family in the evening, celebrating the spring equinox together.

I’ve been intentionally living more seasonally for quite some time now, to the point that in a lot of ways observing the changing seasons has become second nature to me. I don’t have to think too hard about aligning with the energy each month brings or honoring the shifts with small, everyday rituals. That said, it's easy to let the busyness of life sweep us along. With older kids and less time together these days, I find that marking these occasions can easily be forgotten.

So, this year I have set the intention to be sure to celebrate each point in the Celtic Wheel of the Year.

It’s not about going all-out, but rather gently acknowledging the equinox and just elevating the afternoon and evening a little more than your average Thursday. When the kids were younger, I would bake something seasonal and pack a picnic to take to the park with a stack of spring-themed picture books. Yesterday, I laid a simple table for dinner, cooked a delicious new recipe, and had my spring playlists on (and the picture books still get read — for now).

In the evening, I went to my lovely yoga class, where we focused on the equinox energy of balance and renewal. Then, I came home to do a little journaling. And, I thought I would share my prompts with you…

  • What lessons did this winter teach me? How can I carry that wisdom forward as I step into spring?

  • What needs to be released now to make space for new growth? What lingering limiting beliefs, habits, or previous plans or projects are no longer serving me?

  • What seeds am I planting for the season ahead? What am I cultivating in my work and life?

  • How can I invite more lightness and joy into my daily routine? What small shifts could help me embrace the energy of spring?

Remember, you can continue to work with this energy whenever it feels right for you.

If you didn’t get a chance to mark the equinox yesterday, perhaps you can find a quiet moment this weekend — to step outside into nature, do a little spring cleaning, or pause for some reflective journaling. However you choose to welcome the new season, I hope it brings you a sense of renewal and inspiration.

Wishing you a beautiful start to spring! 🌷
