We are a board gaming family, we tend to play as a family at least once a week, often more (especially in the cold winter months).

My kids range from 5-15 and we’re most often playing with the 13 & 15 year old but sometimes the 7 year old wants to be included and every now and then the 5 year old as well.

Today I wanted to share the games we’ve been gravitating to this summer!

If you would like a longer board game list I could share all our favorites for certain ages, but I didn’t want to overwhelm you all with that many games in this post.

Sleeping Queens

This is one that so many people told me about for so long so we finally bought it a few years ago and my oldest two enjoyed it okay, but my seven-year-old, he has been obsessed with it for this last year! There is now also another version where the queens need to rescue the kings.

Kingdomino

I love this game, not only because I somehow win it a lot, but because the games can be quick so it’s great when you don’t feel like settling in for a really long game.

Camel Up

This one is fun but can be so infuriating, you need to bet on which camel is going to win the race, you may feel like it’s obvious, but a lot can change in a short amount of time!

Colt Express

This is one of our longest lasting games, people have not gotten sick of it yet. I can’t even guess how many times we’ve played this one. You all play as thieves on a train and try to steal as much money while attempting to shoot and punch each other but the way the turns work, half the time you’re just punching the air, it’s pretty hilarious.

Parks

This has the best vibes for the summer, that’s for sure! Through this game you try to visit a variety of American national parks, the artwork is just fantastic and it gives me a good dose of wanderlust.

Rebirth

This is an easy to learn game where you get to create fields and built castles and cathedrals in Scotland! There is also an advanced option where to flip the game over and play on Ireland, we haven’t done that one yet, I’m sure we’ll be doing it in the fall.

Mistborn

Of course we’re going to enjoy a board game based off of such a good book series! What I like about this one is that it can be play cooperatively or competitively, I enjoy changing it up.
