This Sunday, July 20th, like every other Sunday, is another opportunity for us to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus together. Our weekly worship gathering at CCV starts at 10am and will feature time in worship, time in the Word, and time in prayer together. This Sunday we’ll continue our new summer series focused on Peter’s 1st and 2nd letters.
Being together in God’s presence like this is a unique and powerful way for us to encounter Him and respond to His direction & guidance. Whenever two or more are gathered in His name, the Spirit of Christ Jesus is at work among us! (Mt. 18:20)

Sunday, July 27th at 6pm: Backyard BBQ & Bonfire at Shoemaker’s Home
Plan now to join us for our next “Summer of Fellowship” gathering. Next Sunday evening Shoemaker’s will be hosting a Backyard BBQ & Bonfire event beginning at 6pm. If you can join us, please bring some meat for the grill and something else to share for the potluck meal. Feel free to invite friends as we enjoy another summer evening together building relationships and deepening connections.
Pastor Kevin and Matthew were out of the office this week, attending the National Vineyard Leaders Conference in Cincinnati Ohio. We had a group of 13 from both CCV and SOCC who were staying and attending together, and we had an outstanding time together! Thank you to those who covered us in prayer!
For the last six months we’ve been in discussion and prayer about merging CCV with Spirit of Christ Church in Haslett. Near the end of April, almost 2 months ago, each church took a congregational poll to help us discern what people are thinking about this possibility and how best to move forward. In each church a clear majority were supportive of the idea, but there were also some questions raised that we’ve been working to address before making a final decision. That process is still underway, and SOCC will be holding a second poll in July.
In the meantime, we have begun to build relational connections between the two bodies and keep moving forward slowly and deliberately. There will be various opportunities like this, including two Fire By Night Worship Gatherings and various potluck gathering over the summer months. Please continue to pray for God’s wisdom, guidance, confirmation and provision as we negotiate what this merger would look like. A precise timeline is still uncertain but we’re discerning that God’s Spirit is moving us toward this.

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
