A man has died in hospital after a motorcycle crash in Scarborough Wednesday evening, police said.

Officers responded to reports of a motorcyclist who had been struck by a driver in a vehicle around 9:30 p.m. near Sheppard Avenue E. and Grand River Boulevard, Toronto police said on social media platform X.

Toronto paramedics said they transported an adult male with life-threatening injuries to hospital. Police said the man was later pronounced dead in hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene, Toronto police said.

They said the investigation is ongoing. All eastbound lanes and most westbound lanes of Sheppard Avenue E. in the area were closed for the investigation.
