Man charged after Winnipeg police allege he sexually assaulted 4 more teens

A 42-year-old man is charged with luring and sexually assaulting four teenage girls, in addition to similar charges involving two other teens that were laid earlier this year.

In June, police got reports about two separate incidents involving four teens between November 2025 and January 2026.

A man communicated with the teens online and arranged to meet them and some of their friends, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a Friday news release.

Both times, the man then picked the teens up and took them to a hotel, where they were given drugs and alcohol and sexually assaulted, police allege. Police in the counter-exploitation unit continued investigating until this month, when they identified a suspect.

Daniel David Main was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with four counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference. Main was also charged with two counts of luring a person under 16 by means of telecommunication and failing to comply with a release order.

The arrest comes months after Main was arrested for similar offences involving two other teens. On Jan. 30, he was arrested on Paramount Road in Winnipeg after a police investigation that began early that month into a man inappropriately contacting the teens online under the username "Moon Beam."

In that case, the teens went to a home on Sept. 8, after several weeks of communicating on social media, Winnipeg police said in February. There, police allege, he gave them drugs and alcohol and sexually assaulted them.

On Sept. 25, one of the teens in that case got sexually explicit images and video from the man through social media, police previously said.

Main, who police previously said was from St. Francois Xavier, Man., was detained in custody on the most recent charges.
