It’s open day at Tudor Lane. After being away for most of the last 4 years, i’m opening up shop too. Cloth, flax, prints, dyes, books there’s lots to see and buy. We’re open 11-4 so come on down 😊
with my limited energy, i choose to spend time on real interactions above writing blogs and social media posts. i no longer use instagram twitter etc. i’ve been pondering on the energy used to store all the information we stack up, forget, duplicate and don’t consider as a climate issue. 28,000 images on my icloud. the week has been amazing. I’ve been at three flax harvests in cardiff. St Fagan’s museum first, where the making n mending club pulled just a little, as the main crop needs a couple more weeks. it’s hanging outside Gweithdy building undercover, to then move to a barn in a week for keeping as display [ ]

i spent the day a day in the swansea sun, cwmdonkin park birds tweeting in the background, working with owen to dye cotton cloth for an exhibition piece he’s making. we used pomegranate, onion, cabbage, with some woad, madder, weld and iron. we did simple clamping and twisting to get pattern.
