Rob and I are currently on our first-ever vacation-only trip. We’ve flown to conferences and to visit family for holidays. We’ve done day trips to Chattanooga and Nashville. But we’ve never flown anywhere or stayed overnight solely to take a vacation together.
We chose NYC. It’s both of our favorite city (though he has yet to visit SF, so stay tuned). We’ve staying with friends, thank Goddess. It’s also cheaper and faster from Huntsville, compared to SF.
On the agenda is the Comedy Cellar, the Met, Balthazar, and a music show with wrestling. Or, a wrestling show with live music. I’ll let you know.
I probably won’t hit my usual cadence of two or three posts per week while I’m here, which is until the 9th.
I know, I know. “The world is going to shit and I don’t even get my usual amount of political commentary and general bullshittery from my favorite humorist slash sex worker slash activist??!”
Know that I am thinking about you, my babies, in these troubling times. I believe it was Voltairine de Cleyre who said it wasn’t her revolution if there isn’t dancing at a music show with wrestling or a wrestling show with live music.
Sometimes, revolutionaries must dance.
