While Trad Inc. jumps for joy over a recent statement Cardinal Perolin made on behalf of Leo to the French bishops about being “generous” with granting permission to celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass, it’s not what they think.
The relevant line states as follows in English:
“May the Holy Spirit suggest to you concrete solutions that will allow you to include generously those sincerely attached to the Vetus Ordo, in compliance with the guidelines desired by the Second Vatican Council in the matter of Liturgy.”
This is because most Trad Inc. influencers do not understand Modernism and do not understand how these people operate. While the Modernists destroying the Church play chess, your typical Trad Inc. influencer loses at checkers.
To be sure, the inevitable bishop consecrations by the SSPX are forcing the Vatican’s hand; yet, the Modernists have no intention whatsoever of giving up the gains they made under Francis when it comes to the suppression of the TLM.
The Modernist revolutionaries are also very aware that their entire Vatican II-based agenda prohibits simply accepting the SSPX consecrations. This is because their revolution is doctrinal and they know the SSPX’s resistance is doctrinal in nature. The SSPX’s existence and the purpose of Archbishop Lefebvre’s original decision to consecrate bishops in 1988 without Rome’s permission are to preserve the faith, not simply the Mass.
The last thing the Modernists want is a discussion over Catholic doctrine and the errors of Vatican II. That is because the Vatican II errors, primarily religious liberty, ecumenism, and collegiality (synodality), are the fundamental building blocks of the Modernist war against Catholicism.
Therefore, the emerging tactic as the Vatican faces down another round of SSPX consecrations is to divert the focus to the Mass and away from Vatican II. They are very aware of those in the traditional movement who think tradition is only about the celebration of the Mass and remain ignorant (often willfully) of the errors and problems with Vatican II. This was the same tactic used in 1988.
But it appears the Modernists may be taking it another step further. Not only are they shifting focus away from doctrine and onto the Mass, but they are going to make the issue simply about the use of the Latin language.
In other words, the Modernists really think that if they offer certain traditionally minded Catholics a Mass in Latin, regardless of whether it is the TLM or the New Mass celebrated in Latin, that it proves their good faith at maintaining “Catholic unity.” Any rejection of this olive branch will be deemed schism.
Yet, the Trad Inc. influencer class remains in complete denial. Probably because they agree with Leo, Perolin and Tucho Fernandez in the first place. Do not kid yourself. Many in the traditionalist movement see no problem with Vatican II. They even defend it.
Thanks to Chris Jackson of Hiraeth In Exile for this meme. Because it perfectly describes the situation we find ourselves in.
Case in point is Gavin Ashenden. When he read the statement from Perolin to the French bishops on behalf of Leo he was so excited. I almost feel bad for bursting his bubble. But before I do so, first listen to Ashenden yourself:
Ashenden actually believes Leo’s latest demonstration of “generosity” is a significant move towards healing the schismatic rift that currently plagues the Catholic Church. As usual, Ashenden completely ignores the reality of what the rift actually is and then avoids the elephant in the room—Vatican II.
Not unlike his effort to bury his head in the sand over Leo’s attendance at a Pachamama pagan idol worship service. At least Ashenden is consistent. Consistently wrong.
With this background in mind, please enjoy my video where I “decode” Perolin’s statement to the French bishops and explain how this is just another Modernist swerve designed to fool those like Ashenden. Don’t be like Gavin.
