Today I’d love you to meet Joseph.
There’s something wonderfully peaceful about a little woodland bird perched quietly amongst the wildflowers. I imagined Joseph taking a moment for himself on a foxglove, enjoying the morning air before the woodland wakes around him.
I always love painting birds like this. Their soft, rounded shapes and gently fluffed feathers somehow capture that feeling of a cool morning perfectly. The foxgloves were just as much a joy to paint, adding little pockets of colour that frame Joseph without taking the spotlight away from him.
