Herbs and Healing is book three in the Magic in Moonglen series and will be out in August 2026. You can buy the ebook directly from my store now.
It is a witch x shifter, grumpy-sunshine story of healing, finding home and, of course, happily ever after.
See below for a preview.
I read the texts in our Slightly Magical Smutty Bookclub group:
Sophie: It feels wrong to read such a filthy paranormal romance when real-life shifters are walking all over town.
Hilda: Spice is part of a healthy relationship.
Mabel: I keep blushing, and Rett keeps asking why.
I laughed out loud, alone in my shop. The main room resembled a local chemist’s shop. Instead of pharmaceuticals, I stocked herbs, tinctures, supplements, yoga and meditation supplies, and merchandise. To the side was a double door leading to my yoga and meditation studio and my consulting room.
Most people thought I was a woo-woo hippy. I was, in fact, a trained Naturopath, yoga and meditation teacher, and a witch with powers that tended towards energy and healing. Who adored my “coven” in the Slightly Magical Smutty Bookclub. We were a motley crew—an elderly oracle with a penchant for smut, a librarian who knitted for half the town, and Mabel, my best friend and the owner of Moonglen’s only bookstore. We read romance books, cheered each other on in our magical journeys, and generally did life together.
The door was wrenched open by strong arms, snapping me from my thoughts. I knew, without turning, that they needed healing but would be a tough case.
I turned with a smile and was struck by the man filling the doorway. He was my fantasy come to life. Tall, built like a linebacker with veins practically humming with the restrained power of a shifter. Short dark hair, a light tan, and amber eyes that cleared the room like it was a habit. His nervous system was amped.
“Hello, what can I do for you today?” I asked in my best customer service voice when my tongue unglued from the roof of my mouth.
One side of his lips tipped up in a smirk. “You’re the healer?” His dark hair fell over his forehead, nearly reaching his deep amber eyes. It felt like I was looking directly at his wolf. He was on edge.
I feigned turning around and looking for someone else. “Yep. Just me here.” I replied as if the assumption that I should be an old man didn’t hurt as much as a paper cut. Annoying, stung, but didn’t do any lasting damage.
He looked me up and down, taking in my black jeans and Good Charlotte T-shirt. I could feel his shrug and decision to press ahead.
“I need your help.”
I bet those four words cost him, so I let the irreverent response fall by the wayside and went professional: “Come and take a seat, and let’s see how I can help.”
His presence filled the shop as he strode towards me. Filling his T-shirt like it was a professional sport - I bet he lived and breathed physical fitness.
I watched him sit, taking my time grabbing my notebook; he sat tall, rigid, but his hands gave him away - fidgeting.
Herbs & Healing is a cozy paranormal romance featuring a grumpy wolf shifter, a sunshine witch, found family, healing, and a fated mate bond. The romance includes some open-door spice, but the story’s focus is on the emotional connection between Lena and Derrick as they learn to trust each other and themselves.
Of all the characters I’ve written, Lena may be one of the closest to my heart.
When I was in university (a while ago now), I developed a chronic illness after a viral infection. Like Lena, I had to learn how to navigate fatigue, uncertainty, pacing, and a body that no longer followed the rules I expected it to. While Lena’s story is fictional, many of her experiences, thoughts, and frustrations were inspired by my own.
I can’t wait for you to read it.
