What I was really building was another community.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting thousands of founders, creators, executives, investors, and visionaries. Some became lifelong friends. Others became collaborators for a season. Some simply crossed my path at exactly the right moment; for them, for me, or for someone we were both meant to meet.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is this:

Not everyone is meant to stick around.

And that’s not a failure.

For a long time, I believed every relationship was supposed to last. If someone moved on, changed industries, or stopped showing up, I’d wonder if I had done something wrong.

Now I understand something different.

Leadership isn’t about keeping people close forever. It’s about creating spaces where people can grow.. even if that growth eventually takes them somewhere else.

Sometimes your role is to introduce two people who go on to build something extraordinary together.

Sometimes you’re there to encourage someone right before they take a leap.

Sometimes you’re the person who reminds a founder that they’re capable of more than they realize.

And sometimes, your paths are only meant to cross for a season.

That’s enough.

In fact, that’s beautiful.

Looking back, many of the collaborations I’m most proud of weren’t the longest. They were the ones that happened at exactly the right moment. One conversation. One introduction. One opportunity. One shared table.

That’s part of the inspiration behind Founder House™.

I didn’t create it to build the biggest networking event.

I created it to create the right environment: one where meaningful conversations happen naturally, ideas are refined, partnerships are formed, and founders leave with greater clarity than when they arrived.

Because sometimes all someone needs is one conversation to change the direction of their business… or their life.

Whether someone stays in my community for a month, a year, or a decade isn’t what matters most.

What matters is that while our paths crossed, they felt seen. They made a meaningful connection. They gained confidence. They left stronger than they arrived.

That’s the kind of leadership I want to practice.
