First off, I want to thank all of you who left a comment last week to let me know how you related to some of the things I talked about. I love the new format, and I really, really appreciate it — I read and respond to everyone. It also made me decide to make this week’s newsletter completely free. I’m going to send out a special one just for my paid subscribers that dives deeper into some rituals and reflections for the full moon in Capricorn on Monday. But for now, back to the latest and greatest.
The most exciting thing to share this week is that I’m doing my last planned book signing for now, at Jenni Kane in Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, on Saturday. This is my local Jenni Kane — I absolutely love the manager, Andrea, and Jenni Kane is one of my favorite, woman-owned brands to wear. They so graciously offered to host me for a few hours, very low-key, chill book signing, there will be some treats and some wine.
If you want to come by at any time, come say hi, give me a hug. If you don’t have the book and want to buy one, I’ll sign it. If you already have the book, bring it and I’ll sign it. If you just want to come say hi, I would love to see you!
This Sat, 6/27 11-3pm Jenni Kayne in Lido Marina Village
So mark your calendars if you’re local!
And if you’ve never been to Lido Marina Village, it’s such a fun way to spend a Saturday — there are great breakfast spots like Zinque or Malibu Farm, a new Lala Land Cafe that just opened, plus fun shops like Clare V, Sugar Paper, the Real Real and more. It really is such a fun way to spend the weekend, so I encourage you to do that. No need to RSVP, just show up — I would love to see you in person.
This one’s really about the ebbs and flows of life and our manifestations.
It’s funny because last week’s reflection was about when it’s raining down blessings and opportunities how do we expand to hold them, how do we allow ourselves to step into the version of us that can hold that level of abundance?
I did have a second callback for one of the things I auditioned for, and that’s moving forward, we’ll see what happens. I have three auditions on the docket to get done in the next couple of days. But overall, this week has felt slow, and I noticed myself having some feelings around that.
One of the thoughts I had to immediately vanquish was, “did I do something wrong that the momentum hasn’t continued?”
But right away, my intuition pipes in and says, “no, of course not. This is just life. Life is ebbs and flows, and if you were always in a blessing shower, you wouldn’t have the gifts that come from the other side of it too.”
The spaciousness of this week has let me have some really precious moments with my son at home while my husband is out of town camping with my stepdaughter — they’re having a special dad-daughter week before she starts her volleyball training. It’s also given me time to really organize things in my house. I did all of our shoe cabinets, cleaned out the laundry room, and now everything looks beautiful. I’m working on my closet right now, and I’m also redoing my office with a new setup for my studio!
So it’s given me the spaciousness to do more grounding home projects, which has been beautiful, and it’s also given me room ahead of the Capricorn full moon, which I’ll dive into more in the cosmic update, to work on a new content plan for my social media and an update to my website that I want to be ready for Monday. So having this lull has truly been a gift.
I think the ability to enjoy a lull in momentum around your manifestation..or maybe I should say a perceived lull, because there’s so much that goes on behind the scenes, is its own kind of practice.
There are so many times I don’t hear anything for two weeks and then suddenly they want to book me for the role or bring me in for a callback.
And if, while you’re taking advantage of that spacious time, you can stay out of anxiety or doubt, you can actually anchor in even deeper.
That’s what I’ve been practicing this week. Like, if I was already a series regular on a TV show and I just wasn’t filming this week because they didn’t need my character, or production was on a break, that doesn’t change my identity as a series regular. It’s just that this week, I’m not filming. When I think about it that way, I fully enjoy organizing my laundry room, I fully enjoy organizing my closet, because these are things I’ll be so happy to have completed by the time I’m back to filming or back to auditioning next week. The flow always comes back again.
So the lulls, I think, are just as much of an opportunity as the blessing showers we talked about last week to really anchor into our manifestation and our future self. And when those doubting thoughts do come up, there’s space to actually go into them a little. I did some inner child work, meditation, and journaling this week around what’s actually coming up for me.
One of the things that surfaced was a memory from, I want to say middle school or early high school, when there was this big acting convention. I don’t remember where it was, but it involved travel, and I think it cost a couple thousand dollars — the details are foggy now. I remember asking my parents if I could go, thinking maybe I’d get an agent out of it, because that’s how Katie Holmes and Jessica Biel supposedly got their agents. My parents said no. Partly, was likely financial, it would have been a big trip for the whole family. But I also think they said no because there are so many companies that try to make money off of kids who want to be actors, offering things that aren’t actually connected to anything real in the industry. We’d already been through a few of those situations, and I think my parents were pretty skeptical about how legitimate it was.
Going back through that memory in meditation, what came up was this story that these two people, who should be my biggest supporters, didn’t think I had what it takes. Maybe I wasn’t good enough. Maybe I couldn’t really do this.
But coming back to it now, as an adult, with a healed perspective, I can see that it had absolutely nothing to do with what my parents thought I was capable of.
It was them figuring out the budget, and also just not having the information to know what was real vs a scam. We don’t even realize how blessed we are now, when you can put something into Google or ChatGPT or Claude and ask, how legit is this, or look up reviews. Back then we maybe just had AOL? They really didn’t have much to go on.
So, in summary: I think some of these moments where things slow down, where it feels like nothing is happening or no progress is being made.. just because we’re not getting constant daily reassurance of progress.. are actually incredibly potent times to lock into this energy, to show up, and to notice what beliefs or thought patterns might be blocking us, so we can do the work to heal and release them.
And to actually enjoy the slowness.
Enjoy the space before the busyness, and savor it from a place of complete and total trust.
That’s my reflection for the week. So whether you’re in the abundance blessing shower, and want to go back and read that post, or you’re feeling like you’re in a lull right now, I hope this is an anchor to remind you that there’s gold to be mined in both!
One thing that’s been such a game changer for how beautiful I feel as an adult is having great, natural-looking, glowy makeup! It’s taken me a while to find face makeup that I actually love, that hydrates my skin but doesn’t make me break out either because my skin oscillates between oily and dry depending on the day, the weather or where I’m at in my cycle.
I’ve been obsessed with the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint ever since some of my girlfriends got me a Sephora gift card a couple of years ago for my birthday and I scooped it up to try because I had been intrigued by the brand and now it’s my number one go-to for a base.
And since it’s summer, if I don’t want to put on much at all, I love the Glowscreen from Supergoop (Ps. just re-ordered cause it’s on crazy sale right now)— it’s tinted, and it gives this dewy, dreamy glow. I first saw it years ago at a gathering with a bunch of models in LA, noticed all of them were using it, bought it immediately, and was instantly obsessed. I’ve used it religiously ever since.
And since we’re on the face makeup topic — another favorite I’ve been using for years is the Well People supernatural complexion stick, this was actually my first clean beauty purchase ever when my skin was breaking out in my 20s and I was desperate for a good, clean, cover all! I love it because I can just draw it right on my face and blend it in. It covers really well, and if you need a quick touch-up under your eyes or for a pimple that’s sneaking out, it’s my absolute favorite for that too.
You can shop all my clean beauty favorite here, if you’d like to check them out.
So let’s talk about Monday..
June 29th brings us a Full Moon in Capricorn, which are, in general, always about illumination and release, and this one is sitting on the Cancer-Capricorn axis, which is basically the cosmic tug-of-war between home and career, between softness and ambition, between needing to be held and needing to achieve.
So if you’ve been feeling pulled between wanting to nest and rest versus wanting to grind and produce, that’s not a coincidence, that’s literally what this moon is illuminating. It’s asking you to look honestly at where you’ve maybe been overworking, or gripping too tight to a goal or an identity tied to achievement, and to let some of that grip loosen. To tune into your true alignment vs. the part of you that get’s validated for ‘the grind’.
I’ll be honest, this one has a little more weight to it than your average full moon, because Saturn is squaring both the sun and the moon from Aries, which tends to bring in a reality check around responsibility and structure, basically the universe asking:
“where has discipline turned into rigidity for you?”
“what outdated structures need to be torn down?”
and for some, because full moon’s also can be culminations, “what is the structure or action plan that you’ve been feeling pulled toward but finally need to implement?”
So I wouldn’t be surprised if this one stirs something up.
I’ll be diving deeper into rituals and reflections for this full moon for each rising sign in my special post for paid subscribers, but for now, just know —
if Monday feels like a lot, you’re not imagining it.
Honor what’s being revealed to you or what’s being asked to be released.
And then, right on its heels, we’ve got a bigger shift brewing: Jupiter is finally leaving Cancer and moving into Leo on June 29-30 (depending on which source you look at, the exact hour is debated, but it’s happening right around now).
Jupiter has been sitting in Cancer since June of last year, expanding everything to do with home, family, emotional roots, that whole nesting energy. Once it moves into Leo, the whole vibe changes, Jupiter in Leo is about expansion through confidence, creativity, joy, being seen, taking up space, being generous and bold.
So if you’ve spent the last year going inward and building your foundation, this is the moon and the planets basically giving you permission to come out of your shell and shine a little louder.
It’s show time, babies! ;)
xx,
Cass
