Last week I had the pleasure of diving into the world of litigations with Scott Osheroff on this podcast ‘Look out the Frikkin Window’. We focused on:
Identifying investment opportunities,
Challenges of legal due diligence,
Portfolio allocation,
sovereign litigations, and
Venezuela's debt and investment potential.
Basically, we covered the theory that helps the special situations investor think rationally about allocating towards public-co litigation claimants, and what the market currently makes of the area. If you are an investor in the space, feel free to give it a listen here:
About ScottFirst and foremost, Scott is a great character and an increasingly close friend. He’s a real boots on the ground analyst and the type to book one way tickets and just figure it out when he gets there (which he actually did at the start of his career). He works at Asia Frontier Capital as their CIO, and very much has an international approach. I doubt there’s many with a longer due diligence travel log than him. His main areas of interest are resources (uranium and copper mostly), commodities more broadly, litigations, and cannabis. As you can tell he’s on the more interesting side of things. There’ll be more from him to come, and you can get in contact with him at:

I highly reccomend him to anyone interested in learning about international markets and I’m sure he’s willing to exchang ideas.
Best,
Oliver
