A loving reminder: There might be meltdowns

The season is already moving.

For many of you, kids are back in school or heading back any minute now. The routines are beginning. The calendar is filling in. And all sorts of new things are asking for attention.

Which means everyone’s nervous system is working harder than usual.

So let me gently say this before anyone gets too far into the season:
There might be meltdowns.

There might be regressions, not listening, whining, more crankiness, more screen tension, more losing it than usual.

Don’t expect it. Don’t be surprised by it. And most importantly, don’t take it personally.

Your people are adjusting (and you are too!). They’re using up so much of their human brain energy out in the world: sitting still, paying attention, following directions, learning new routines, managing social situations, holding it together.

And then they come home, which means home often gets the less polished version.

Transition tends to look like this. It’s not a sign anything’s gone wrong. But it does require extra support.

And this is exactly why I created Fall Clarity: fall has patterns, and when we can see them sooner, we can meet them with more clarity, steadiness, boundaries, and care.

Our first gathering, The Fall Reset, is this Friday at 12p ET. We’ll take time to notice where you actually are right now: what matters this fall, what’s changing, what’s already asking for attention, and what you want to carry forward on purpose instead of letting the calendar decide it for you.

And a note about tomorrow’s Thursday call: I’m going to let it breathe this week. Question #13 is still coming, but it wants a little more room. This week feels like it wants to be about honoring the actual threshold so many families are standing in right now: summer ending, fall beginning, school starting, routines returning, life picking up speed.

So there won’t be a Thursday call tomorrow. Instead, I’m putting my attention toward Friday’s Fall Reset.

The season is already moving. Let’s meet it on purpose.

I’d love to have you with me.

With love,
Carrie
