DATING LATELY: Okay, I’m diving into it – what has dating been like this summer? Actual details and learnings on how to have fun in the often treacherous modern dating world (maybe even some soft launch pictures 😉) in this post:

THE MOST EXHAUSTING PROFESSION: If you are a creative person, you know this all too well. The spinning of your wheels, the debate of strategy, the procrastination that you disguise to yourself as “planning.” I am speaking to myself. This quote encapsulates it – just make something. Just make a move! Life is way more satisfying this way.

IDEAL DATE: Spent the weekend with two of my muses. The Mary Oliver documentary was fantastic. I’ve never had such a kindred-spirited experience as weeping together in a theater with women who I know could be my friends. It can now be streamed wherever you are — a great shot in the arm! Second, this audiobook by Suleika Jaouad. Listened while browsing the MET — but it is very good anywhere. Real tangible prompts for writing and insight on the practice of keeping a journal.

DRESS BRAND WITH GOOD STUFF UNDER $500: I happened upon this brand in SoHo recently. I love the structured style and quality feel. I was relieved to see that most price tags were under $500. Why is every good dress over $1000 lately?!

A SPECIAL NEW TO ME BRAND: Got coffee with Olivia from Maison Venu yesterday. Look at her stuff! She’s the real deal. These tablecloths … artistry!
