Welcome to Unfancy’s Sunday ritual where we plan our outfits together. I share five looks I’ve planned for my week, and then invite you to do the same. My hope is that it gives you a calm + creative start to your week.

Good morning!

I’m writing this as rain taps on the window for what feels like the 75th day in a row. It’s not, but when you’re used to endless sun, it feels like it. You know what really makes me feel better when grey weather turns my spirits blue? A flickering candle and some George Shearling. Nothing smooths me out like a little jazz piano.

The rainy weather has thrown me off some of my healthier habits, and I’m trying not to overcorrect or overhaul. Instead, I’m settling into arrangement. Not changing what I do, but changing when I do what I do. Like listing out my daily to-dos the night before (instead of the morning of), or picking my outfits for the week on Sunday (instead of 5 minutes before I need to leave the house).

Sometimes, when I’m thrown off my habits, I think the solution is a complicated new routine — but that just adds more to my plate when I’m already low-energy. But when I just lean into thoughtful arrangement of what I already do, I feel dramatically better about myself. More sure, more confident — even on the greyest of days.

Okay, let’s get into the outfits! It looks like the sun will return this week and I’m leaning in! Particularly excited about pulling out my favorite black summer maxi dress and my colorful beaded necklaces.
