Eclipses get hyped as portals, shadow work, and destiny downloads. That's fine—but let's get practical. Here's how to actually use this one.

This diagram from timeanddate.com shows why we don't get eclipses every month. The key isn't Earth's tilt, but the Moon's orbit—it's tilted about 5 degrees relative to Earth's path around the Sun (the ecliptic). Eclipses only happen when the Moon is full or new AND crosses the ecliptic plane at special points called nodes. This creates eclipse seasons roughly every 6 months, giving us 2-7 eclipses per year (usually 4-6).

When: September 7-8, 2025 (overnight depending on your location)
What: Total lunar eclipse - the Moon turns deep red/orange for over an hour
Where you can see it: Asia, Australia, Africa, and Europe get the full show. Sorry, Americas - you'll have to catch the livestreams this time.

Peak moment: 18:11 UTC (that's 2:11 PM Eastern, 11:11 AM Pacific, 7:11 PM in London, 3:11 AM Sept 8 in Sydney). Yes, it peaks at 11:11 for those on the US West Coast - the universe has a sense of humor.

🌕 The basics: This is a North Node lunar eclipse at 15° Pisces.
When: September 7, 2025 | 11:11 AM PT

  • Flow over force

  • Creative expression

  • Intuitive decisions

  • Emotional connection

  • Spiritual practices

  • Joy-based choices

  • Perfectionism

  • Over-analysis

  • Rigid control

  • Criticism (self/others)

  • Workaholic patterns

  • Proving your worth

1. Check which house holds 15° Pisces (moving toward) and 15° Virgo (moving away from) in your natal chart,
2. Revive something that lights you up in the Pisces area of life,
3. Prune what no longer serves in the Virgo area of your life,
4. Use the cheat sheet below for inspiration

Write down:

  • One thing you're finishing

  • One thing you're moving toward

  • One pattern you're pruning or perfecting

Light a candle. Speak it aloud. Let it guide you for 6 months.

Whether you see the blood-red Moon overhead or catch it on a screen, the energy works the same. Sometimes the most powerful eclipses are the ones we feel rather than see.

The key: Whatever house this hits, you're learning to trust flow and intuition (Pisces) over perfection and analysis (Virgo).

If you happen to know about secondary progressions, go ahead and check what your progressed moon phase, sign and house is, and see if there is additional guidance there for what energy to bring to that which you are moving toward in this eclipse.

The next eclipse is happening at the critical 29 degree of Virgo and it is a partial solar eclipse. Happening on the last day of summer September 21st, 2025.
